Dove Mountain Church

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness ...

2 Timothy 3:16
--English Standard Version

Our Mission...

To see the whole church, living and taking the whole gospel to the whole world.

The Vision of Dove Mountain Church

"For the whole church - individually and corporately - to live out our lives seeking the presence of the Father, growing in the likeness of the Son and keeping in step with the Spirit by learning and teaching together, by worshiping and praying together, by loving and sharing together, by evangelizing and embarking on missions together, and by showing mercy and seeking justice together - doing all things to the glory of God."

Dove Mountain Church desires to
follow the model of a Spirit-filled
church presented to us in the
Book of Acts 2:42-47:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching …” (Acts 2:42)

Dove Mountain Church seeks to be a Learning & Teaching church. Our Lord commanded his disciples and commands us now to "go and make disciples . teaching them to do all I have commanded you," (Matt. 28:19-20) and that task encompasses thinking and doing all things according to the light of the whole Bible. Therefore, we endeavor to instruct and equip every member of the body to handle the Word of God reverently and accurately, being corrected and trained so that the people of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work, living a life that is pleasing to God, ministering according to their spiritual gifts, and discovering and joyfully fulfilling their purpose in life.

"They devoted themselves . to the fellowship" (Acts 2:42)

Dove Mountain Church seeks to be a Loving & Sharing church, a true fellowship where we follow Jesus' example and serve one another in love with all our gifts for the common good, honoring one another above ourselves. We seek to live in harmony with one another, instructing one another, sharpening one another, patiently bearing with one another, kind and forgiving to one another, encouraging and building one another up, and spur one another on to love and good works, always speaking well of one another. Also, we desire to love our neighbor as ourselves, and love our enemies, praying for those who slander us, doing good to those who hate us, and blessing those who curse us.

"They devoted themselves . to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42)

Dove Mountain Church seeks to be a Worshiping & Praying church. We must pray because we are dependent upon God for all things - His wisdom, goodness, love, power, even life itself; we pray because by it we delight in His fellowship and, mysteriously, He delights in ours as well; and we pray because through it we advance the work of His kingdom. Similarly, we worship God, desiring to present our daily lives right down to our simplest actions as pleasing gifts to Him doing all things to the glory of God. When we gather corporately we desire to offer to God alone our praise and adoration, our confession and thanksgiving, in spirit and in truth, according to His Word, in the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of His Holy Spirit, with joy and gladness, reverence and awe.

". They gave to anyone as he had need" (Acts 2:45)

Dove Mountain Church seeks to be a Merciful & Just church, especially since we, in our spiritual helplessness receive mercy daily from our Lord. We desire to follow Jesus' example, who came not to be served but to serve, having compassion for those in need. As we give drink to the thirsty, food to the hungry, clothes to the naked, kindness to the stranger, comfort to the prisoner, and help to the sick, Jesus receives such mercy and compassion as done for Him personally. Likewise, just as God is a merciful God, He is also just and requires of His people to actively come to the aid of the weak, vulnerable and oppressed of society, defending those who have no power to defend themselves.

"And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved" (Acts 2:47)

Dove Mountain Church seeks to be a Witnessing & Missionary church. Jesus is our model for fulfilling our missionary and evangelistic calling. "As the Father has sent me," said Jesus, "so I am sending you," (John 20:21). How did the Father send Jesus? He sent His Son to become like us. "He actually entered our world," writes John Stott. "He emptied himself of his glory and humbled himself to serve . He never stayed aloof from the people he might have been expected to avoid. He made friends with the dropouts of society. He even touched untouchables. He could not have become more one with us than he did. It was a total identification of love." And through this identification of love, Jesus sought us, served us by word and deed, and saved us. In our own way, we humbly desire to imitate Jesus with courage, knowing that He has promised to be with us and has given His Spirit to empower us to go and make disciples. We invite you to join us on this adventure God has called us to.
